To Optimize the Primary iModel

Follow these steps to optimize the primary iModel.
  1. Open the project that you want to use and then open the iModel Manager.
  2. On the Primary iModel tile, select the Options ( ) menu then choose Optimize.

    The Optimize iModel dialog appears.

  3. Group models by doing the following:
    1. Click Create new group. The Create New Group dialog appears.
    2. Enter a Group name.
    3. Click ADD MODELS then select the appropriate model(s) and click Add selected.
    4. When you are finished, click Create New Group.
    The Model Group is created.
  4. In the Optimize ungrouped models box, enter the number of resultant optimized iModels that you want to have.
Note: It is recommended that you specify a minimum of two optimized iModels.
  5. If you want to simplify the model geometry, enable Simplify model geometry.
  6. If you want to exclude certain iModel categories, then enable Exclude iModel categories and select the iModel categories that you want to exclude from the optimization.
  7. When you are finished, click Optimize. The optimization process begins, and a second tile appears in the iModel Manager, identified as the Display_Model.
Note: Depending on the number of iModels chosen to optimize and the amount of data within the iModels, this process may take a considerable amount of time.
When the process has completed:
  • The second tile is updated with a "DISPLAY IMODEL" label.
  • One new iModel appears in the iModel Index page of the Viewer, corresponding to your selection in Step 3. By default, these files are automatically named "CombinedPhysicalModel_" and incremented accordingly.
